Ensuring maritime safety, completing many planning targets
At the end of 2024, the Northern Maritime Safety Corporation (NMSC) recorded excellent production and business results in completing the set targets and tasks.
In particular, with the management and operation of maritime signals, the enterprise manages and operates 42 lighthouses, 9 independent near-shore beacons and 495 maritime signals on 20 public maritime routes in accordance with current technical and economic standards and procedures.

Last year, in the context of complicated storms, floods and natural disasters, the Corporation handled 112 unexpected incidents to ensure traffic safety. Unexpected incidents occurring with maritime signals due to natural disasters, storms, floods, collisions, etc. were all handled promptly, ensuring that the signaling equipment always operates in the best conditions, helping maritime vehicles to navigate safely on routes and sea areas managed by the enterprise.
Revenue from maritime signal management and operation in 2024 reached VND 464,170 million, reaching 97.1% of the assigned plan and equal to 105.3% compared to 2023.
The Corporation also completed the survey plan to publish maritime notices with 20 public maritime routes, 9 pilot pick-up and drop-off areas to ensure quality, progress, and timely provision of accurate and reliable information to seafarers and management agencies. Revenue from survey work increased by 11.3% compared to 2023, reaching 41,358 million VND.
Regarding dredging and maintenance of shipping channels, last year, the enterprise was assigned to carry out 9 dredging and maintenance projects of shipping channels. Of these, 8 projects will be carried out from 2023, and 1 project will be constructed in 2024.
Basically, all projects are implemented according to the assigned plan, ensuring quality and design standards, quality, compliance with environmental and labor safety regulations, bringing about effective exploitation of the channel after completing maintenance dredging work. Revenue in the year is about 332,959 million VND, an increase of 14.1% compared to the results in 2023.
Mr. Dong Trung Kien, General Director of the Northern Maritime Corporation, emphasized that the company has always actively sought other sources of production and business to create more jobs and increase income for workers. At the same time, it also contributes to ensuring maritime safety and safety for other activities in maritime waters.
Other production and business activities have been well implemented, meeting the requirements of quality, progress and ensuring the interests of the enterprise. In particular, revenue from other production and business activities in the year increased by 51% compared to the results of 2023, reaching 114,767 million VND.
The total disbursement of the Corporation in the year was 111,334 million VND, equal to 98% of the yearly plan.
"The investment projects completed during the year have been effective in improving the quality of public services provided by the Corporation, facilitating the management and operation of the lighthouse system, public shipping lanes and business management.
At the same time, improving productivity and product quality ensures maritime safety, labor safety, environmental sanitation, contributing to improving and enhancing working and living conditions of workers," Mr. Kien shared.
Regarding maritime pilotage services, maritime pilotage companies (now the Northern Maritime Pilotage Company) have organized and provided good services for guiding ships in and out of seaports, anchorage areas, and transferring goods with the output of guiding ships reaching 47,440 times, equal to 102% of the plan and equal to 105.2% compared to 2023. Revenue from pilotage services reached VND 571,280 million.
Optimize human resources, improve labor efficiency
Identifying that 2025 will have many difficulties and challenges such as the complicated world economic situation and erratic weather conditions, the Northern Real Estate Corporation has proposed many plans to complete the production and business tasks assigned by the State, ensuring quality, progress and efficiency, ensuring stable jobs and improving the lives of workers.

Specifically, the Corporation plans to use the enterprise's development investment capital to implement projects for new investment, upgrading infrastructure systems, purchasing equipment to serve production and business activities with 12 projects, including 9 transitional projects implemented from 2024 and 3 projects completed in 2025.
One of the goals is to manage and operate the maritime signal system to achieve good quality, not to let any maritime accidents occur due to errors in the maritime signal system. Quickly and promptly resolve maritime incidents, unexpected incidents of the maritime signal system, ensuring that maritime traffic is always smooth and safe.
At the same time, conduct surveys to issue timely and accurate maritime notices to take advantage of the depth of the channel exploitation, as well as perform well the task of surprise surveys to ensure traffic safety on the channels. Do not let any maritime accidents occur due to errors in maritime notices.
