Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh signed and issued Document No. 311/CDLQGVN-QLLT to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Department of Tourism of provinces and centrally-run cities on ensuring tourism activities during the National Day holiday on September 2.

Accordingly, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration stated: During the National Day holiday on September 2, people and workers will have a long break. This is an opportunity for people across the country to travel, and at the same time, an opportunity for the tourism industry and localities to stimulate tourism, promote products, and expand the market.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism requests the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Tourism of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct the management boards of tourist areas, destinations, business establishments and tourism services in the area to proactively organize activities to serve tourists during the holidays; improve the quality and introduce new local tourism products to serve tourists.

Tourist establishments must ensure the safety of tourists, arrange warnings, rescue, and enhance security, safety, fire prevention, and disease prevention according to regulations.

Tourism units need to strengthen the work of ensuring food hygiene and safety, preventing food poisoning. In particular, units must not allow the production and business of food of unknown origin, poor quality, or the use of potentially toxic additives at establishments that serve food.

Management boards of tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourism businesses and tourism services need to ensure environmental hygiene and maintain the general landscape. At tourist areas and attractions, it is necessary to arrange timely waste collection, implement environmental protection measures, instruct and remind visitors to participate in environmental protection, and ensure a sufficient number of standard toilets.

In particular, management boards of tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourism businesses and tourism services must comply with legal regulations on prices, strictly comply with regulations on registration, price posting and selling at the listed price; not allow arbitrary price increases, solicitation, and pressure on customers, which negatively affects the image of the locality and Vietnam tourism.

Relevant parties need to detect, prevent and resolutely handle subjects who stalk and cause trouble for tourists; arrange enough staff to guide and support guests.

The functional units should step up propaganda so that people, businesses, business households, and tourists can raise their awareness of voluntarily complying with the law and ensuring regulations on disease prevention and control, environmental sanitation, food safety, and paying attention to preventing motorcycle, bus, and waterway accidents. In addition, localities need to widely promote attractive destinations and products serving tourists on the basis of promoting the quintessence of the nation's cultural values.

Relevant units need to strengthen inspection and quality control of tourism service providers, improve professionalism in customer service at tourist accommodation establishments, tourist transport units, tourist areas, attractions, and restaurants.

In particular, it is necessary to promptly and strictly handle violations of the law on tourism business, environmental protection, and food safety, and at the same time establish and publicly announce a hotline number to handle arising situations and provide support when tourists request it.

The Vietnam National Tourism Administration also requested the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Department of Tourism to promptly inform when problems arise, report on the direction and implementation of local tourism activities and the results of holiday services to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration.
