At the meeting, informing the results of the coordination of propaganda work on military and defense tasks in 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau stated: With the attention of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense; the coordination and support of central departments, ministries and branches, especially the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Journalists Association, central and local press agencies, press work in the Army continues to achieve many very important results.

Press propaganda work continues to make important contributions to propagating the Party and State's guidelines and policies on military, national defense, and building the People's Army in the new situation; well performing the function of providing information and orienting public opinion; raising awareness and responsibility, strengthening solidarity and consensus of the entire Party, people and army; gaining support from friends and the international community in building all-people national defense and protecting the Fatherland; fighting to protect the Party's ideological foundation; enhancing the prestige of the country and the Vietnam People's Army.

In particular, recently, the press has strongly promoted, achieving a very high media effect, the activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; highlighting the role and contributions of the Army as well as the deep affection of the people for the Army and Uncle Ho's soldiers. At the same time, the press has focused on strongly promoting foreign defense events and activities, both domestically and internationally...

At the meeting, representatives of the leaders of news agencies and press thanked the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense for their attention, leadership and direction to units in the Army in the past time, creating favorable conditions and providing quick and accurate information so that press agencies can continue to improve the quality of programs and columns promoting the implementation of military and defense tasks, good people and good deeds in the Army.

At the same time, he expressed his hope that in the coming time, the parties will coordinate more effectively in handling, orienting information, and disseminating issues related to military, defense, and army building tasks, contributing to orienting public opinion and fighting against erroneous and distorted views of hostile forces.

General Phan Van Giang hopes that press agencies will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense to promote and improve the effectiveness of propaganda work; coordinate well in providing guidance, providing information, and promptly and closely handling important issues, not allowing hostile and reactionary forces to take advantage of the situation to incite and sabotage the Party, State, and Army.
