The delegation was led by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu - Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of the Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province.

Receiving the delegation were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and leaders of the Provincial People's Council, a number of departments and branches.

On behalf of the delegation, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu informed about a number of activities, especially social security work and charity work of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in general and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province in particular in 2023.

Accordingly, in addition to performing well the Buddhist work, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province has mobilized and contributed over 24 billion VND to charity, humanitarian and social security activities.

The Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee mobilized and supported the poor of the province with 3.4 billion VND at the Tet For The Poor Program - Giap Thin 2024 according to the Appeal Letter of the Provincial Party Secretary.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Nghe An province for supporting and creating favorable conditions for the Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Sangha to successfully complete Buddhist work, as well as other activities in the past year.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu wishes Nghe An province a new year of Giap Thin 2024 with peace, prosperity, and increasingly rich, beautiful, civilized, and modern development.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy expressed his joy to welcome the delegation of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province to visit and congratulate on the occasion of the traditional New Year of the nation.

At the same time, he informed about some main features of the province's economy, society, defense and security in 2023 with remarkable results achieved despite many difficulties and challenges.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy affirmed: Achieving such achievements is the joint effort of the entire political system, the Party Committee, the entire army and the entire people of the province, in which there is a very large role, very important and positive contribution of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and Buddhists.

Emphasizing that Buddhism is one of the major religions, always accompanying the development of the country and the people, the head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee expressed his joy at the development of provincial Buddhism, highly appreciated the role of the Executive Committee, monks and nuns in propagating the Dharma, educating Buddhists and those who love Buddhism about love and humanistic moral values ​​in life.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province has also regularly organized many meaningful activities to meet the religious needs of Buddhists; at the same time, coordinated with authorities at all levels to organize many meaningful activities such as: Buddha's Birthday, Vu Lan Festival... creating a diverse spiritual and cultural life for Buddhists and people, aiming for goodness, the good, and the beautiful in life.

Along with Buddhist activities, the Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the monks, nuns who guided Buddhists to participate well in patriotic emulation movements; especially social security, humanitarian and charitable activities that have spread widely and made very positive contributions.

At the same time, many pagodas and monasteries have closely coordinated with local authorities to mobilize Buddhists to clear land, donate land to open roads, and beautify rural areas, etc., thereby actively participating in the new rural construction movement and other activities to help the province implement socio-economic development policies.

On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Secretary thanked the important and positive contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and the monks, nuns and Buddhists in the whole province.

Entering 2024, a very important pivotal year of the 2020-2025 term, Nghe An province focuses on implementing important tasks, especially implementing Resolution 39 of the Politburo, the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 and major projects of the Central Government in the locality and the province.

The Provincial Party Secretary hopes to continue to receive support, cooperation and coordination from the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province and monks, nuns and Buddhists; especially to continue to promote the achieved results, practice the spirit of "Protecting the nation, bringing peace to the people" and compassion, saving suffering and helping living beings of Buddhism; well implement the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", to jointly build the province to develop more and more.

At the same time, I hope that monks and nuns will continue to follow the example of true practitioners to continue to lead and gradually develop Nghe An Buddhism, becoming a bright spot of Buddhism in the whole country.

Nghe An province will continue to pay attention to implementing well all aspects of State management of religion, including Buddhism, especially promptly resolving legitimate needs. On the occasion of preparing to welcome the New Year of Giap Thin 2024, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy respectfully sends to monks, nuns, and Buddhists a healthy, happy, and peaceful new year.

Up to now, in Nghe An province there are over 70 pagodas and 1 Buddhist temple with nearly 150,000 Buddhists.
