Dead Island 2's first expansion is coming in November

According to VGC , Deep Silver has announced that the first story expansion for Dead Island 2 will be released on November 2nd this year, titled Haus.

"Immerse yourself in a surreal, psychological horror dreamscape as you investigate a mysterious cult in Malibu. The Haus expansion will take players to an all-new storyline where a mysterious billionaire's creepy cult must fight to survive in the midst of the Zompocalypse," the game's publisher said. The expansion will also introduce several new survival tools and eight new skill cards.

Deep Silver previously confirmed that there are two Dead Island 2 story expansions in the works. Following Haus, the upcoming SOLA Festival expansion is set to launch in Q2 2024.

First announced in 2014, Dead Island 2 is a zombie action RPG that has suffered a series of delays and developer changes during a tumultuous development cycle.

Deep Silver's in-house studio Dambuster took over development of the title in 2019 and completed it. The game was eventually released in April 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC (via the Epic Games Store).

According to Embracer, owner of Deep Silver, Dead Island 2 exceeded expectations upon launch. Accordingly, the game sold 1 million copies in three days and 2 million copies in the first month.
