Steering Committee for implementing democracy at the grassroots level deploys tasks for the last 6 months of 2024

This afternoon, June 24, the Steering Committee for Grassroots Democracy in Quang Tri province held a conference to review the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee for Grassroots Democracy in the province Nguyen Dang Quang; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Le Thi Lan Huong; Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dao Manh Hung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam attended the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Party Committee, government, and organizations in the political system from the provincial to the grassroots level will continue to pay attention to leading, directing, deploying, and seriously and effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on implementing democracy at the grassroots level, in line with the motto: "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, and people benefit". Awareness of democracy and practicing democracy among the people has been significantly raised.

The strengthening and innovation of the Party's leadership, the management and administration of the State have been given attention and focus. The responsibility of the leaders and the role of the people as masters have been increasingly enhanced. People have actively participated in Party building and government building. The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have made many efforts, creating positive changes in the content and methods of operation.

The working style and performance of public duties of cadres, civil servants and public employees are innovated according to the motto: "Close to the grassroots, close to the people, respect the people, understand the people, learn from the people, be responsible to the people". The strength of the great national unity bloc is increasing. The people are in agreement and join hands to effectively implement the socio-economic development goals of the province.

At the conference, delegates exchanged and discussed in depth the results achieved in implementing democracy at the grassroots level. Along with that, the existing points and limitations in this work were also paid attention to and pointed out, such as: The propaganda, dissemination and implementation of the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws on democracy and the implementation of democracy in some localities, agencies and units are still lacking regularly.

A number of cadres, civil servants and public employees do not fully understand the position, role and responsibility of implementing democracy in communes, wards and towns; the supervisory role of the people is sometimes and in some places limited; administrative reform and administrative procedures have not met the requirements; some enterprises do not fully understand the meaning and importance of implementing democracy at the grassroots level...

Through exchanges and discussions, delegates highly agreed with the directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024 set out by the Provincial Steering Committee for Democracy Implementation at Grassroots Level. In particular, the key tasks are: Continuing to advise the Party Committee to direct and thoroughly grasp and deploy the action program to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term in conjunction with the Party's guidelines, resolutions, directives, conclusions, and policies and laws of the State.

Strengthen the responsibility of Party committees and authorities, especially heads of agencies, units and localities, in developing and implementing regulations and rules related to the implementation of democracy at the grassroots level within the scope and fields of assignment and responsibility; continue to promote and expand democracy, the strength of the great national unity bloc and social consensus; focus on leading and directing administrative reform work; proactively prevent, combat and promptly handle the abuse of democracy, human rights, ethnicity, religion, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang requested the Steering Committee for implementing democracy at the grassroots level to conduct a full and accurate survey and assessment of the actual situation, focusing on clarifying difficulties and obstacles and focusing on grasping the thoughts, aspirations and satisfaction of the people.

Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang requested to improve the effectiveness of propaganda for people about the Law on Democracy at Grassroots Level; continue to effectively implement documents and regulations of higher levels; regularly care for, look after, and motivate people. At the same time, build a team of cadres and civil servants who always uphold the spirit of serving the people.
