"Math problems" for 9 ministers and industry leaders after the question and answer session

(Dan Tri) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man outlined specific tasks for 9 ministers and heads of sectors after the question-and-answer session before the National Assembly Standing Committee.
"After 1.5 days of serious and enthusiastic work, with a constructive spirit and high sense of responsibility, up to this point, the entire content and program of the question and answer session at the 36th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee has been completed," emphasized National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man when concluding the question and answer session on the morning of August 22. He said that 75 National Assembly deputies spoke, of which 66 deputies questioned, 9 deputies debated and 11 deputies registered but were not allowed to speak due to time running out.

The purpose of this question and answer session, according to Mr. Man, is to comprehensively assess the implementation of the Government, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuracy's resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term to the end of 2023. The question and answer session also aims to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of implementation and clarify the responsibilities of heads of agencies subject to supervision; promptly make adjustments in direction and administration; perfect policies and laws, and handle existing problems and difficulties in practice. According to the assessment of the National Assembly Chairman, the National Assembly deputies demonstrated high responsibility, carefully studied the reports, asked concise, clear, focused questions, and went straight to the point. Government members and sector heads have a firm grasp of the current situation of their sectors and areas of responsibility, and have basically answered fully, frankly, explained, clarified many issues and proposed solutions for effective implementation in the coming time. After the question-and-answer session, Mr. Tran Thanh Man, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, outlined a number of key tasks for the 9 ministers and sector heads who had just taken the stage. With the Ministry of Industry and Trade , he proposed to effectively implement projects to ensure energy safety and security; perfect the legal system in the field of petroleum business; and soon have a long-term solution to handle the implementation of separate storage of national petroleum reserves.

The National Assembly Standing Committee requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to complete policies and laws on labels and trademarks of key agricultural products; to carry out forecasting work well, proactively deploy solutions to respond to climate change, prevent natural disasters, drought, saltwater intrusion, ensure water sources for production and people's lives... The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was requested to study and develop regulations to regulate a number of areas of culture and art; to have mechanisms to encourage and mobilize social resources to invest in culture and cultural industry. The task assigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs is to complete the arrangement and settlement of regimes and policies for redundant officials and civil servants and asset management after the arrangement of district- and commune-level administrative units in the 2019-2021 period; urgently complete the project to reorganize administrative units at district and commune levels for the period 2023-2025... The Ministry of Justice needs to thoroughly overcome the situation of slow issuance of detailed regulations; prevent and combat corruption and negativity in law-making work; have solutions to overcome limitations in the enforcement of administrative judgments; improve the effectiveness of asset recovery in economic and corruption criminal cases. The National Assembly Standing Committee requested the Ministry of Public Security to strengthen the fight against, prevent and combat all types of crime, especially organized crime, crimes related to "black credit", transnational crimes, crimes with foreign elements, and crimes operating under the guise of businesses.

The Government Inspectorate is assigned to review and resolve outstanding, complicated, and prolonged complaints and denunciations and not to allow new complicated and prolonged cases to arise; improve the quality and effectiveness of conclusions on inspections of law enforcement responsibilities in receiving citizens and handling complaints and denunciations. On the side of judicial agencies, the Supreme People's Court needs to focus on implementing solutions to speed up progress and further improve the quality of adjudication, focusing on performing mediation and dialogue well in the process of resolving cases. The Supreme People's Procuracy needs to perform well the task of preventing injustice, mistakes and missed crimes; strengthen the responsibility of prosecution in investigation activities. Develop processes and professional skills to improve the quality and effectiveness of the stages of performing the functions and tasks of the People's Procuracy. Citing the comments of General Secretary and President To Lam who repeatedly mentioned the important role of building and perfecting institutions and promptly removing difficulties and obstacles for socio-economic development, the National Assembly Chairman said that this question-and-answer session also contributed positively to promoting the implementation of that very important task and requirement.
