Ba Ria - Vung Tau: When do students get a day off on Saturday?

The Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has sent a document requesting the People's Committee of this province to allow the implementation of teaching and learning 5 days/week, with Saturday and Sunday off in the coming time.


On January 24, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province announced the results of the second survey on the implementation of teaching and learning 5 days/week; Saturday and Sunday off for secondary, high school and continuing education levels in the area.

According to the second survey results, for high school and continuing education levels, 97.35% of managers agreed to implement teaching and learning 5 days/week, with Saturday and Sunday off; 99.08% of staff; 90.51% of teachers; 83.9% of parents and 82.87% of students.

For secondary school level, 100% of administrators agreed; 97.54% of staff; 92.39% of teachers; 71.204% of parents and 73.612% of students.

Teachers at Vung Tau Secondary School agreed to let students take a day off on Saturday.

Previously, from December 23 to 27, 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province conducted a survey to collect opinions on the implementation of teaching 2 sessions/day and arranging Saturday off for students at secondary, high school, and continuing education levels to all managers, staff, teachers, parents and students across the province.

According to the survey results, the Saturday off plan received high consensus from the survey subjects. However, according to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Department of Education and Training and localities conducted a survey on this policy before the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular No. 29/2024. Therefore, the results of the first survey are no longer relevant.

Speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that with the results of the second survey, the department has sent a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee to allow the Education and Training sector to implement teaching and learning 5 days/week; Saturday and Sunday off for junior high school, high school and vocational education levels in the province from the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
