Ms. Dang Kim Tram - the youngest daughter of Ms. Doan Ngoc Tram - said that her mother died at Hospital 354 due to old age and poor health, when she turned 100.
Ms. Doan Ngoc Tram was born on December 23, 1925 in Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province. She was a lecturer at Hanoi University of Pharmacy, the wife of surgeon Dang Ngoc Khue (1916-1999).
Although both grandparents worked in the medical field, each of their children had a different profession. Only the eldest daughter - martyr and doctor Dang Thuy Tram - was the only child to follow in her parents' footsteps.
This heroic and great Vietnamese mother not only left her four daughters the name Tram (her children all had her name, only the middle name was changed: Dang Thuy Tram, Dang Phuong Tram, Dang Hien Tram, Dang Kim Tram), she also passed on to her children the qualities of an intellectual woman rich in culture, rich in tolerance, strong, extremely brave, but also humane and deeply emotional.
When Dang Thuy Tram's Diary was published, it strongly inspired not only the youth of Vietnam but also touched the hearts of many people who love freedom, peace, and charity in the world.

Along with her daughter who sacrificed heroically and courageously, Mrs. Doan Ngoc Tram is also loved as a heroic Vietnamese mother, a mother's heart as vast and great as millions of mothers who love their children on this earth, but when the Fatherland needs them, they are ready to send their beloved children to the front.
When her beloved son returned to his family and country today with a diary that touched the hearts of the other side, Ms. Doan Ngoc Tram, despite her old age and poor health, still participated in many community activities associated with her son's diary.
A familiar image to the media in Hanoi is that of Ms. Doan Ngoc Tram, nearly 100 years old, with a gentle face and a constant smile, sitting in a wheelchair to attend many events related to her daughter Dang Thuy Tram, events with profound social significance, inspiring the younger generation.
