The Hai Phong City People's Council has just issued a resolution regulating tuition fees for the 2023-2024 school year. Accordingly, in urban areas, the tuition fee is 300,000 VND/student/month. In rural areas, it is 100,000 VND/student/month for three levels: preschool, primary school, and secondary school. High school level is 200,000 VND/student/month.

Like before, this year Hai Phong continues to implement the tuition-free policy for students from preschool to high school according to Resolution No. 54 approved by the City People's Council in 2019. The city is expected to allocate more than 400 billion VND from the local budget to support education.
The People's Council of Da Nang City has just passed a Resolution on tuition fees and tuition support for preschool children, students of public and non-public general schools, and students of continuing education centers for the 2023-2024 school year.
Specifically, for preschool, primary, secondary and high school in urban areas, the fee will increase to 300,000 VND/month/student. For rural areas, preschool, primary and secondary schools will apply the fee of 100,000 VND/month/student, while high schools will apply the fee of 200,000 VND/student/month.
In mountainous areas, Da Nang applies a general fee of 50,000 VND/month/student.
In which, the urban area includes the districts: Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Lien Chieu, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le. The rural area includes the districts of Hoa Vang (except for the educational facilities of Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district). The mountainous area includes the educational facilities of Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district.
The City People's Council also decided to spend 408.2 billion VND to support 100% of tuition fees for students from kindergarten to high school (in the 9 months of the next school year). Of which, support for public students is more than 316 billion VND, support for non-public students is more than 92.2 billion VND. Preschool children and students of foreign-invested schools are not exempt from tuition fees.
This is the third consecutive year that Da Nang has implemented a policy of 100% tuition support. The previous two times, the city government waived tuition fees due to people's difficult lives due to COVID-19.
In 2022, the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a resolution to support 100% of tuition fees for 5-year-old preschool children, public and non-public junior high school students in the period of 2022 - 2025 in the province.
Of which, 5-year-old preschool children will enjoy the benefits from the 2022-2023 school year to the end of the 2023-2024 school year, and secondary school students will enjoy the benefits from the 2022-2023 school year to the end of the 2024-2025 school year. The provincial budget will spend more than 568 billion VND for the entire 2022-2025 period.
Thus, in the 2023-2024 school year, preschool and secondary school students in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will continue to be exempted from tuition fees as in the previous school year.
In the 2022-2023 school year, 7 localities nationwide will exempt tuition fees for high school students, including: Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Kan, Can Tho, and Quang Binh.
