On May 22, speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, Ms. Dam Bich Thuy, founding chairwoman of Fulbright University Vietnam, confirmed that she will become an independent member of the Board of Directors of the EQuesteducation group after leaving Fulbright University Vietnam.

Ms. Thuy said this is an official decision. However, she will start work in early July, after completing her work at Fulbright University Vietnam. Specifically, she will also attend the graduation ceremony of this school on June 24 for the last time as the founding president.
Ms. Thuy also said that she will share specific work at EQuest when starting her new job. Meanwhile, in EQuest's announcement, the group said that in addition to taking on the new role, Ms. Thuy will bring to EQuest a lot of rich experience in building high-quality universities for the group.
Previously, sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters about the reason for leaving Fulbright University Vietnam, Ms. Dam Bich Thuy said that 2023 is considered to mark the first milestone of this school. That is when the first class of students graduate, when the community has exceeded 1,000 university students, and all preparations for a new facility have been ready. Therefore, this is also the best time for her to transfer to a new generation of leaders.
Ms. Dam Bich Thuy has been with Fulbright University Vietnam for 8 years since the first days of its establishment.
Ms. Dam Bich Thuy has a bachelor's degree from Hanoi University and a master's degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania (USA) under a Fulbright scholarship. She has held many senior management positions in the fields of finance, banking and education. Before becoming President of Fulbright University Vietnam, Ms. Thuy was the first Vietnamese General Director of ANZ Bank in Vietnam, representative of National Australia Bank (NAB) in Vietnam and General Director of Vietnam International Bank ( VIB ).
In addition to announcing the appointment of Ms. Dam Bich Thuy, EQuest Group also announced that it has successfully raised $120 million, including debt and equity from existing investor KKR (sourced from the Global Impact Fund). This investment will be used to invest in and upgrade the Canadian International School System (CISS) in Ho Chi Minh City and expand the college and university system, especially the campuses of the Broward School Vietnam system in Hanoi , Hue and Ho Chi Minh City. Students studying this program can complete the entire US bachelor's degree with a tuition fee of $7,000/year in Vietnam without incurring additional costs abroad.
