According to TheVerge , the contact card on iOS 17 has been refreshed with a feature called poster that turns the contact card into a full-screen image on the recipient's iPhone when you call them. It uses the same design language as the recently redesigned lock screen, with bold typography options and the ability to add Memoji, and it works with third-party VoIP apps.

There's also a new live transcription feature for voicemail that lets users see a real-time transcript of the message the caller is leaving. Users can choose to make or receive the call, and it's all handled on the device.
Some of the updates to Messages in iOS 17 include the ability to filter searches with additional terms, jump to the most recent message for easier follow-up, voice message transcriptions, and a suite of features that let you share your location and status with others in real time. It can automatically send a message to a friend when you get home, and it can share your cell service status and phone battery to help avoid confusion if you're in an area without a signal.
Stickers get an overhaul with the ability to add any emoji in iMessages or anywhere else in the system. Live Photos can also be turned into animated stickers, and users can add effects to stickers.
Additionally, AirDrop has added the ability to send contact information called NameDrop, which allows selected email addresses and phone numbers to be sent by simply placing two iPhones close together. It also works between iPhones and Apple Watches, where photos can be shared in a similar way.
New StandBy mode in iOS 17 will work while iPhone is charging
iOS 17 also includes improvements to autocorrect for the keyboard. It now relies on a new language model for better accuracy, plus an easier shortcut to revert back to the original word the user wrote if needed. Dictation also uses a new AI model to work better.
A new app called Journal will automatically suggest moments that users might want to record in a journal entry. Users' entries can include photos and activities, and users can schedule reminders for themselves to journal. It's also end-to-end encrypted for added security.
StandBy is a new charging mode that turns the screen into a status indicator with the date and time. It can display information from Live Activities, widgets, and smart stacks, and automatically turns on when the phone is in landscape mode while charging.
Finally, Siri is also getting a boost and allowing users to remove "Hey" from "Hey Siri" when giving commands.
The official version of iOS 17 is expected to be released to end users this fall.
