Mr. Tran Dac Cu - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Long Thanh Village (Tam Tien Commune) said that since mid-July, the Village People's Committee and the Village's mass organizations have planned and divided tasks to prepare for the Summer Camp and launched the "National Day for National Security Protection" in 2024. The camp has many competitions between villages, including tent building and decoration contests, folk games such as boat racing on sand, finding candy in a bowl of flour, drinking water relay, water balloon smashing, sack jumping relay, sea swimming; cultural performances to promote environmental protection; folk dance performances...
"This is an activity held every two years in Tam Tien commune, so it has received enthusiastic responses from the people. The youth force is in charge of setting up the camp, preparing the performance, the women are preparing the food stalls... whoever has talent in any subject can register to compete in that subject. Everyone must practice to contribute convincing performances in the spirit of solidarity" - Mr. Cu said.

The camp has become an event that Tam Tien people have invested in both form and quality. The most notable are the folk dance performances of the villages. In addition to the familiar folk dances, some villages have also invested in costumes and sound production techniques, combining modernity and tradition. The activities attract a large number of people to participate in cheering and also tourists from neighboring localities.
Mr. Nguyen Van Vu (from Tam Tien commune) has been working in Ho Chi Minh City for many years. When he heard about the "Tam Tien, the cultural colors of the sea" camp, he and his family returned to his hometown to attend the festival. "Every year, I only return to my hometown during Tet but the time is very limited, so I don't experience anything. Now that I've returned during the festival, my children can participate in many folk games, and my wife and I can also meet old friends and visit relatives" - Mr. Vu shared.
Spreading the value of marine culture
According to the Nui Thanh Agricultural and Fishery Cooperative, on the occasion of this camp, the unit also coordinated with the Farmers' Association of Tam Tien commune to organize a space to display and introduce OCOP products, typical rural industrial products and typical coastal products at Ha Loc beach. Accordingly, in addition to the products of Nui Thanh district, there were also representatives of subjects from 5 other districts participating in the exhibition with more than 50 OCOP products of 3-star quality or higher.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Manh - Director of Nui Thanh Agricultural and Fishery Cooperative said: "The trade promotion activities aim to create a space for people and tourists to visit and shop for quality products, contributing to promoting and diversifying the image of Tam Tien sea tourism. After 3 days, the revenue of the subjects is estimated at nearly 40 million VND. The subjects participating in the exhibition presented 20 gifts to encourage learning for children in Tam Tien commune, each worth 300 thousand VND".
Mr. Tran Hai Nam - Vice Chairman of Tam Tien Commune People's Committee said that the "Tam Tien, Colors of Sea Culture" Camping Festival in 2024 will last from August 16 to 18, with 6 tents and more than 500 campers, but all people in the commune responded and participated. The event is like a traditional festival of the locality, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity, promoting cultural values, good customs of coastal people through the forms of exchanging games, folk arts such as singing Bai Choi, Ba Trao.
Integrated with the camp is the program to launch the "National Day for National Security Protection" in 2024 to promote propaganda and education on patriotic traditions and national pride, enhance the responsibility of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety and building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern people's police force to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
