The program took place from September 30 to October 1 at the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center, attracting 18 businesses in the province to participate. This meaningful activity was organized by the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center in coordination with the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Enterprises introduced to An Giang people and tourists over 100 OCOP certified products, start-up products, famous specialties of An Giang province such as: honeysuckle tea, red artichoke syrup, butterfly pea flower tea, dried snakehead fish, honey, shrimp salt, rice, palm handicraft products, burnt rice products, bird's nest, lingzhi mushrooms, cordyceps mushrooms, massage oils and balms...

Promotional activities of OCOP products in An Giang contribute to the consumption of OCOP products and specialties of the province, serving the consumption needs of the people. At the same time, creating conditions for businesses with OCOP certified products, products with potential towards OCOP to promote their brands and access the market.

Visitors will experience product trials, promotional programs of businesses and many attractive game shows, such as: Showing off your talent in guessing prices and learning about OCOP products; folk games; guessing beautiful images, destinations and cuisine of An Giang; "guessing teammates' ideas" game; street art shows and singing exchanges every night.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc - Deputy Director of An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center said that the promotion program is an activity in a series of activities to introduce and develop OCOP products, typical products of An Giang province widely to consumers and tourists inside and outside the province. Through the promotion program, enterprises and cooperatives producing OCOP products have the opportunity to expand their consumption markets, grasp information from consumers to innovate production and business methods, improve quality, design, and perfect OCOP products.

"The OCOP product promotion program demonstrates the role and responsibility of state management agencies, wishing to support small businesses, OCOP businesses, and startups to build a foundation for long-term development as well as create conditions for people to access information about OCOP products...", Mr. Ngoc said.

In recent times, An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center has implemented many activities to promote and connect trade of OCOP products inside and outside the province through exhibitions, trade connection conferences; promote the development of e-commerce for OCOP products through online sales channels; bring OCOP products to product introduction and sales points associated with tourist areas and tourist attractions in the province...

By the end of August 2023, An Giang had 92 products certified as "OCOP Products" with 3 stars or higher; including 2 products with 5 stars - National level, 3 potential 5-star products, 15 products with 4 stars, 72 products with 3 stars. It is expected that by the end of 2023, An Giang will strive to have 70 more products certified as "OCOP Products" with 3 stars or higher.

An Giang OCOP products are gradually affirming their value and quality in the market, gaining the trust of the people. By 2025, An Giang aims to have 170 more OCOP products recognized with 3 stars or more; of which, it strives to have 10 more OCOP products achieving 5 stars - National level...

The OCOP program is a program for developing the rural economy in the direction of developing internal resources and increasing value; it is a solution and task in implementing the national target program on new rural construction. The focus of the OCOP program is to develop advantageous agricultural, non-agricultural and service products in each locality according to the value chain, implemented by private economic sectors (enterprises, production households) and collective economies.

The State plays a role in creating and promulgating the legal framework and policies for implementation; orienting the planning of areas for production of goods and services; managing and supervising product quality standards; supporting the following stages: Training, coaching, technical guidance, application of science and technology, branding, trade promotion, product promotion, and credit.

OCOP products are evaluated and ranked into 5 star categories: 5-star category: High-quality products, meeting international standards; 4-star category: Products that meet standards, can be upgraded to meet international standards; 3-star category: Products that meet standards, can be developed to 4-star category; 2-star category: Products that do not fully meet standards, can be developed to 3-star category; 1-star category: Weak products, can be developed to 2-star category.

At the central level, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development established the OCOP Program Advisory Council to support localities in evaluating and ranking products; consulting on building national brands for OCOP products; monitoring the quality of OCOP products; researching and proposing mechanisms and policies for implementing the OCOP program.
