The commune has a total area of over 7,345 hectares, a 23.263 km long border with 9 national border markers, sharing the task of protecting border sovereignty with Muong Pon Border Guard Station.

The commune has 10 villages, of which 2 border villages, Nam Ty 1 and Nam Ty 2, are identified as having a very important position in the strategy of security and national defense.

In addition, Hua Thanh Commune Police also mobilized people to hand over weapons, explosives, and support tools, contributing to crime prevention, maintaining security and order, and ensuring a peaceful life for the people.
