The first relief shipment from the people of Phuc Khanh commune (Bao Yen district, Lao Cai), including Lang Nu village, is preparing to depart, bringing necessities to the flood-hit area of Le Thuy (Quang Binh).
On the afternoon of October 30, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Ms. Cong Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Phuc Khanh commune (Bao Yen district, Lao Cai) said that upon hearing the news that Le Thuy district (Quang Binh) was flooded, the local government, the people of Phuc Khanh commune in general and the people of Lang Nu village in particular joined hands to contribute and support essential goods to send to the flood victims.
"The first truck is ready and is expected to depart this weekend to transport necessities such as rice, instant noodles, water, etc. to flood victims in Le Thuy district. The next trucks will continue to depart when they have enough supplies," said Ms. Huong.
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 3, Lang Nu village (Phuc Khanh commune) was swept away by flash floods, causing heavy damage to people and property. People across the country, including Quang Binh people, joined hands to support and help Lang Nu soon overcome difficulties and losses.
