(Dan Tri) - Thuong spent nearly 200 million VND on a trip to Namibia. She participated in unique and interesting activities such as going to the "dry tree cemetery", the oldest desert in the world, and hunting for the "big 5" in the Atlantic Ocean.
Hoang Minh Thuong (33 years old, living in Hanoi) is a girl who is passionate about traveling and often travels to unique and strange lands in the world. She has set foot in more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa... From this special passion, Thuong has become a travel blogger. She often shares her experiences on media channels, social networks and connects and supports people with the same interest in traveling to new lands.
Not long ago, Thuong spent half a month exploring Namibia, a country in South Africa that few Vietnamese people know about. Thuong said that Namibia is known as the "Mars asteroid" in the heart of Africa. Here, she set foot in the Kalahari desert, where the famous movie "Even God Must Laugh" was filmed, and watched antelopes, deer, tigers, and leopards leisurely strolling. These animals are very close to tourists, even deer poke their heads into guests' rooms without scaring them.

"There is a resort in the Kalahari Desert so visitors can relax and rest comfortably. I traveled by a special vehicle to watch the sunset along the desert and the red sand dunes in the distance," the 33-year-old female tourist said. One of the special destinations of the trip was Deadvlei - known as the "dead tree cemetery" or "the most beautiful death valley in the world". According to Minh Thuong, the tour guide, Deadvlei is a forest in the desert. The climate here is extremely harsh. The absence of water and high temperatures have burned all the vegetation, leaving only black dry acacia trees. These trees cannot decompose because the land is too dry and hot. Over many years, they have stood alone in the middle of nature, the sky and the earth.Deadvlei "Dead Tree Graveyard".
According to published documents, Deadvlei is a white clay basin located near the Sossusvlei sand dunes in Namibia. At the time when the Tsauchab River flooded the land, acacia trees once flourished. About 900 years ago, the river began to change course, causing Deadvlei to gradually become barren, the dead trees were blackened by the sunlight like skeletons. It is the harsh weather over time that has created a unique natural landscape and attracted tourists like Minh Thuong. In the following days, the Vietnamese 9X traveled through Fish River Canyon - the largest canyon in Africa. She also stopped at the "ghost town" Kolmanskop - which used to be one of the world's largest diamond mines. The town has been abandoned for nearly a century. However, this place still attracts tourists to see because of its mysterious beauty and the legends passed down by word of mouth about the golden age of this land. On the 8th day of the trip, the young girl saw with her own eyes a "fossil tree" called Welwitschia mirabilis. This is one of the unique plants that survives in Namibia, some of which are determined to be up to 2,000 years old. This strange plant looks like a dead clump of grass, but in fact it still thrives in harsh weather conditions, 4-5 years without rain. During her trip to this South African country, Minh Thuong also participated in a hunting tour for the "big 5" (5 large animals including whales, dolphins, sunfish, leatherback turtles and seals) in the Atlantic Ocean while sipping a glass of champagne.
In the last days, she traveled by specialized vehicle to see the Namib desert - a place with majestic landscapes - on one side are sand dunes, on the other side is a beautiful blue beach. Namib is considered the oldest desert in the world and has many species of animals that are mostly not found elsewhere. The sand dunes are up to 300m high and can change seasons depending on the sunlight and the time of day, making Namib one of the most beautiful deserts on earth. The cool water from the sea washing up on the sand of the Namib desert also creates magical moments that cannot be found anywhere else, making Minh Thuong surprised. Although she has been to many lands, Minh Thuong realized that Namibia still gives her many different experiences. She feels like she is touching nature when watching wild animals, blending into the lives of people in the nomadic tribes of Namibia. The roads in the middle of the desert or watching the sunrise on the colored sand dunes at Sossusvlei also fascinate her. Revealing the cost of the trip, Minh Thuong said that she spent nearly 200 million VND to visit the attractive destinations of this South African country. Sharing her experience when traveling in Namibia, Minh Thuong said that the above costs were self-funded and the itinerary was made by herself. If traveling through travel agencies, tourists can save a lot more, only about 140 million VND/person (including airfare).
Minh Thuong's trip costs 200 million VND for a 15-day journey.
After returning from Namibia, Minh Thuong shared her 15-day journey on social media. Many people praised the surreal images of the trip and commented that "such beautiful scenery is worth any price". However, there were also opinions that the trip was too expensive. However, Minh Thuong said that the 15-day trip was accompanied by a Vietnamese tour guide and a foreign tour guide in Namibia with many interesting activities. Namibia is a unique land in Africa, so although it is a bit expensive, with what she has experienced, the above amount of money is worth it.Pham Hong Hanh/Photo: Hoang Minh Thuong
