On December 26, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, Vice Chairwoman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, signed an urgent dispatch on the prevention and control of chickenpox epidemic that is at risk of breaking out from Giao Long Industrial Park (Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre).
Giao Long Industrial Park is located in Quoi Son and Giao Long communes, Chau Thanh district (Ben Tre). There are currently over 30,000 workers working here.
According to the Ben Tre Department of Health, from November 6 to now, 83 cases of chickenpox have been detected at the AO Garment Company in Giao Long Industrial Park. The first case appeared on November 6, then appeared sporadically in factory 3 (the company has 4 factories - PV). On December 23 alone, 75 cases were recorded, all in factory 3. Currently, factories 1, 2 and 4 have not recorded any cases.
Following the request of the Ben Tre health sector, AO Company has implemented a number of epidemic handling measures such as guiding cases to medical facilities for examination, and at the same time instructing patients to ensure infection prevention procedures; patients are only allowed to return to work when they are cured according to the diagnosis of the treating physician.
Currently, this chickenpox outbreak is likely to break out strongly and spread widely. Therefore, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province has directed the Industrial Park Management Board, the Department of Health, and the Department of Education and Training of Ben Tre province to strengthen all measures to prevent and control chickenpox, with special attention paid to preventing the disease from spreading to school areas.
Giao Long Industrial Park is the largest industrial park in Ben Tre province. There are currently over 30,000 regular workers here.
According to the Ben Tre Department of Health, chickenpox (also known as shingles) is an acute infectious disease caused by the chickenpox virus called Varicella virus. This disease is highly contagious and occurs in both children (more common) and adults. The obvious manifestation of chickenpox is blisters all over the body, even in the tongue and mouth mucosa. The disease has many routes of transmission and many dangerous complications. Therefore, it is necessary to have basic knowledge about this disease in order to have timely prevention and treatment methods.
