According to the latest statistics of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's coal imports of all kinds reached more than 4.9 million tons in August with a value of more than 591 million USD, down sharply by 59% in volume and 51.5% in value compared to July 2023.

In the first 8 months of the year, imports of this item from Russia reached more than 2.7 million tons with a turnover of more than 538.45 million USD, a sharp increase of 65.3% in volume but only a slight increase of 15% in value compared to the same period in 2022.

Import prices have recorded a sharp decrease with an average of 198 USD/ton in the first 8 months of the year, a sharp decrease of 41.4% compared to the same period in 2022.

In 2022, Vietnam imported more than 2.2 million tons of coal of all kinds from Russia with a turnover of more than 590 million USD, accounting for 13% in volume and 14% in value in the structure of coal imports of all kinds of Vietnam. Thus, it can be seen that the output and import turnover of this item from Russia has almost exceeded the figure for the whole year of 2022.
