1. Coffee
Analysis and synthesis of 40 studies published in the European Journal of Epidemiology medical journal shows that drinking coffee helps prolong life. Dr. Sandra Kaufmann working in the US explains that coffee contains a large amount of chlorogenic acid which helps control blood sugar, preventing the risk of type 2 diabetes.
Research also shows that people who drink coffee regularly have longer telomeres.
Longer telomeres are an important indicator of cellular health and a biomarker of longevity. The longer the telomeres, the longer the lifespan.
2. Radish
Dr. Sandra Kaufmann said that radishes are rich in isothiocyanates, compounds that are very effective against cancer, especially breast, pancreatic, prostate, lung and colon cancer.
3. Pomegranate
Dr Nirusa Kumaran, a general practitioner working in the UK, said that pomegranates contain many polyphenols such as ellagic acid, ellagitannin, urolithin and punicalagin - compounds that help ensure a healthy gut, regulate blood sugar levels, improve metabolic health and fight cancer, preventing cardiovascular diseases.
4. Peanuts
Dr. Sandra Kaufmann pointed out that peanuts contain many compounds that have anti-inflammatory effects, reduce bad cholesterol, stabilize blood pressure, reduce the risk of diabetes and some types of cancer.
5. Avocado
Research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association says avocados are rich in oleic acid, which can prolong life. Eating half to one avocado a day can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
6. Seaweed
Research published in the health website Phytochemistry Letters shows that seaweed contains a lot of fucoxanthin and fucoidan, two compounds that have anti-cancer, anti-obesity and longevity effects.
Dr. Sandra Kaufmann emphasized that the powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of fucoidan are effective in enhancing immune function, improving digestive health, and at the same time, supporting the DNA repair process, enhancing the effectiveness of cancer treatment and prevention.
