According to information from the local Department of Industry and Trade, in 2024, the total national industrial promotion budget plan approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Decision No. 3396/QD-BCT is 130 billion VND/106 projects, tasks for 38 localities, 14 units and a number of tasks directly implemented by the Department.
By June 30, 2024, the national industrial promotion budget will be allocated 45 billion VND. The local Department of Industry and Trade guides localities and units to complete documents and implement projects that have been allocated budget according to regulations; develop an industrial promotion plan for 2025.
In coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Hanoi City Industrial Promotion Center successfully organized the Industrial Promotion Conference and Exhibition Fair of typical rural industrial products in the Northern region.

Implementing the plan to inspect and supervise national industrial promotion projects in 2022 and 2023, the Department has conducted 3 inspection and supervision teams in the provinces: An Giang, Kien Giang, Dak Nong, Tuyen Quang, and Ha Giang.
In addition to industrial promotion work, in the management of industrial clusters, the local Department of Industry and Trade has appraised and commented on the Industrial Cluster Development Plan of provinces and cities; commented on proposals to adjust and supplement the planning of industrial clusters in some provinces and cities; and handled recommendations from more than 20 localities/agencies on the management and development of industrial clusters.
Report to the Ministry's leaders on the management and development of industrial clusters in 2023. Organize 2 working groups to inspect the management of industrial clusters in the provinces: Dak Nong, Khanh Hoa, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang.
The Department also organized a vote and honored and awarded Certificates to 126 products and product sets of more than 200 rural industrial establishments in the Northern region that submitted their registrations for the vote.

According to the assessment from the local Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Department's tasks were always implemented promptly, with quality and efficiency; closely coordinated with localities to focus on immediately removing difficulties and obstacles in implementing related tasks. At the same time, the unit also actively organized inspection and survey delegations on the implementation of industrial promotion and industrial cluster work. Thereby, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles and evaluating the results and effectiveness of state management of industrial promotion and industrial clusters in localities nationwide.
However, some localities are currently restructuring their apparatus by merging public service units performing industrial promotion tasks under the Department of Industry and Trade into public service units under the Provincial People's Committee. The above merger breaks the unity in the organization of the industrial promotion system as stipulated in Decree No. 45/2012/ND-CP of the Government, affecting the planning and implementation of national industrial promotion projects.
Furthermore, by the end of June 2024, the national industrial promotion budget for 2024 had only been allocated about 34.6% of the total budget for 2024, thus affecting the implementation of national industrial promotion projects by localities.
To overcome difficulties and complete the assigned tasks of the year, the local Department of Industry and Trade determined: Regarding industrial promotion work, continue to coordinate with relevant units to monitor the progress of budget allocation in 2024, striving to complete the assigned plan.
Coordinate with the provinces of Quang Tri and Kien Giang to prepare content, programs and carry out tasks related to organizing the Industrial Promotion Conference and Exhibition Fair of typical rural industrial products in the Central Highlands and Southern regions.
Regarding industrial cluster management, the Department organizes inspections and surveys of industrial cluster management in a number of provinces and cities and performs other assigned tasks of industrial cluster development activities; continues to handle recommendations from localities, agencies/units on industrial cluster management and development and performs other industrial cluster management tasks under its authority.
In addition, the Department focuses on human resources to carry out tasks related to the development of small-scale industry and enterprises, the new rural program and other tasks.
