6 Vietnamese representatives participate in the world IT talent final

On the evening of March 2, the award ceremony of the final round of the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024 took place in Hanoi .

ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024 is a gathering place for the best IT students from leading universities in Asia - Pacific . This is the largest international event to showcase IT talent and skills for students in Vietnam and the region.

The 2024 ICPC Asia- Pacific Competition will be held in Vietnam. The University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-Hanoi) is the host. To create the best conditions for the competition, the organizing committee has fully prepared facilities and technical equipment according to global ICPC competition standards.

The exam is run entirely on online grading systems that meet international standards. Exam results are published in real time and are only “frozen” one hour before the end to ensure confidentiality until the announcement.

ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024 brings together 195 IT students (65 teams) and 50 coaches from 40 prestigious universities in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The teams coming to Vietnam to participate in the final round were selected from the top teams in the ICPC regional qualifiers. Of these, Vietnam has 12 representative teams participating. The teams were selected from many localities across the country such as Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the announcement of the organizing committee, the NewTrend team of Seoul National University (Korea) won the championship of ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024.

Not only confirming the continental championship, the 16 best teams of ICPC Asia Pacific Championship will qualify for the ICPC Global Finals held in Kazakhstan in September 2024.

Notably, among the 16 teams that qualified to participate in the ICPC Global Finals, Vietnam contributed 6 teams, the most among the countries participating in the ICPC Asia Finals.

According to Prof. Dr. Chu Duc Trinh, Head of the Organizing Committee of the ICPC Asia-Pacific 2024: "The University of Technology always prioritizes training and nurturing young IT talents. This is a source of high-quality human resources not only for Vietnam but also for countries with advanced technology. The school has made every effort to make the first ICPC Asia Pacific Finals a great success, leaving a good impression on international friends."

The organizers also said that young Vietnamese people can completely integrate with the world in the field of IT - Communications, focusing on programming skills, algorithms, and teamwork ability.

The ICPC Asia Pacific Championship has contributed to affirming Vietnam's position in Asia and the world in terms of young IT resources.

Through the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship, the brands of Vietnamese universities have gradually become comparable to those in the top 100 universities with the world's leading IT quality.
