On the evening of November 15, the 2024 Cai Luong Theater Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Performing Arts in coordination with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City concluded at the Can Tho City Cultural Center.

The festival took place from October 25 to November 15 with 33 plays by 29 units, more than 1,000 artists and actors with a spirit full of enthusiasm, a thirst for creativity, warm camaraderie and enthusiastic support from a large audience who love the Cai Luong stage of Can Tho City and neighboring localities.
The festival closed in the joy of many artists looking forward to the works that will be lit up after the competition days.
Attending the closing ceremony of the festival were leaders: Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Festival Steering Committee; Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee; People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association... and many artists from participating art units.
Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Quang Dong said that the 2024 National Cai Luong Festival clearly demonstrates the efforts of public and non-public Cai Luong art units, artists, actors, etc., which have created the success of the Festival.
“Through this Festival, we propose that the Department of Performing Arts, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture - Sports of provinces and cities, and reformed theater art units... in the coming time continue to research and advise on mechanisms and policies to improve special treatment for artists and actors in the field of performing arts in general and reformed theater in particular to contribute to preserving and developing this art field" - Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Quang Dong emphasized.

As a result, 4 units won gold medals including: Tay Do Theater (Can Tho City) with the play: "Chat Ngoc - Cam Thi Giang"; Hanoi Opera House, play: "Xuan Huong Nu Si"; Long An Opera House, play: "Nguoi con cua Rung Tram"; Tran Huu Trang Opera House, play "San ho do".
There are 8 plays that won silver medals: "The person carrying 9 death sentences", "Tay Son female general", "Sang mai vang nhat nguyet", "Nguoi ven do", "Cay lone ban", "Gap lai nguoi da chet", "Where the dawn calls", "Khong ngau".
