According to the National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments reached 56%, a slight increase over the same period last year.

The 4-day September 2 holiday is considered the final peak of the 2024 summer tourist season. Not only domestic tourists are on the road, but during this time, localities also welcome a sharp increase in international visitors , bringing Positive signals for inbound tourism season from next October.

International visitors mainly come from the markets of Korea, China, Taiwan, India, Europe, and the US with a stay of about 4-5 nights.

Among them, there are localities with high growth rates such as Hanoi estimated to welcome more than 58,900 arrivals, an increase of 35.8%; Thua Thien Hue estimated to welcome 16,000 overnight guests, an increase of 54.3%; Lao Cai estimated to welcome more than 13,470 arrivals, an increase of 46.4%; Kien Giang estimated to welcome 15,570 arrivals, an increase of 271.4%; Ho Chi Minh City estimated to welcome 38,800 arrivals, an increase of 3.2% over the same period...

According to statistics, during this year's holiday, 4 provinces and cities with tourism revenue of over 1,000 billion VND are Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Of which, Ho Chi Minh City leads the country in terms of number of visitors and revenue, with nearly 1 million visitors in 4 days and revenue of 2,940 billion VND, an increase of 1.7% over the same period in 2023.

Except for some areas with heavy rain, the weather was basically favorable in all three regions, so the indicators of customer service and total revenue from tourists in the provinces/cities all increased significantly compared to the same period last year. Some localities recorded high increases such as Binh Thuan, with the total number of visitors increasing more than 3 times.

For air transport, the total number of flights provided during the holiday is estimated at more than 4,250 flights, an average of 840 flights/day, an increase of 3.5% over the same period in 2023.

The railway industry served about 130,000 train passengers, an increase of about 10% over the same period in 2023.

Businesses say that in addition to recovering consumer confidence, accommodation facilities and destinations have not increased prices, even offered many promotions, and have not charged holiday surcharges, which has attracted tourists.

Some localities also open free entrance to historical and cultural attractions for people and receive positive responses.
