3 important women in Luu Quang Vu's life and career

A musical poetry night titled Wind and Love Blowing Over My Country to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Luu Quang Vu's birth (April 17, 1948) and the 35th anniversary of his death (August 29, 1988) will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on August 16.

The musical night of poetry Wind and love blows on my country will reveal 3 important women in the life and career of Luu Quang Vu. They are film actress To Uyen, the female lead in the film Con chim vong khuan; female painter Nguyen Thi Hien - Luu Quang Vu's confidant during the "painful and hopeful years" when Luu Quang Vu struggled to make a living as well as find his path in art and Xuan Quynh - a fellow poet, who spent 15 years by Luu Quang Vu's side, who accompanied him through the sublime days of both love and career.

Sharing at the press conference, Mr. Luu Quang Dinh, Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper/Dan Viet Electronic, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Poetry and Musical Night Wind and Love Blows on My Country and younger brother of poet Luu Quang Vu said that the legacy left by poet and screenwriter Luu Quang Vu is enormous. In recent years, his family, colleagues and fans have created many different art programs, but have only brought to the audience a very small part of that legacy.

“Poetry lovers often mention him for his passionate, romantic love poems, but Luu Quang Vu also has a series of works full of civic emotions, a poet’s sense of responsibility towards major social issues, and love for the small and disadvantaged. At this program, for the first time, such works will be performed on stage,” journalist Luu Quang Dinh shared.

Meritorious Artist Tran Luc and Luc Team will recreate the famous play "Truong Ba's Soul - Butcher's Skin" by Luu Quang Vu.

The musical poetry night Wind and love blows over my country includes 4 chapters, with the titles of famous poems and works by screenwriter Luu Quang Vu. Using many art forms, the program recreates the short life but full of love and desire to live beautifully and meaningfully of the talented writer of the time - who is known as the pioneer screenwriter in Vietnamese drama in the renovation period.
