Information about the 2024 Pho Festival was announced at a press conference held this afternoon (February 29) in Hanoi. The highlight of this year's Pho Festival is the "Vietnamese Pho Road" program, which brings together more than 50 booths of businesses and culinary brands to participate in the performance, aiming to promote the image, create bridges and spaces, and help honor and connect businesses and traditional craft villages.
The booths are arranged in separate areas, with a connection in ideas and content, to create highlights, with 3 main areas, including the 3-region pho booth; the pho ingredients and spices booth and the standard booth. The booths will be open from 9am to 10pm daily to serve visitors.
Throughout the 3 days of the 2024 Pho Festival, the Organizing Committee will issue a special promotion program, expected to be from 15,000 - 20,000 bowls of pho served to diners in the form of vouchers. With each voucher worth 15,000 VND, diners will have the opportunity to enjoy 1 bowl of pho at the booths of their choice.
Ms. Le Thi Thiet, President of Nam Dinh Culinary Culture Association, said that the highlight of this Pho Festival is to build and recreate the path of pho, honor the craft villages that make pho noodles from rice and recreate the fields and rice grains that can be preserved and passed down to make delicious, unique pho noodles of Vietnam.
“Currently, there are many types of vermicelli, glass noodles, and noodles on the international market, but Vietnamese pho noodles made from rice are of particular interest to international businesses,” Ms. Thiet emphasized.
In addition to directly introducing the flavors of Vietnamese pho, the 2024 Pho Festival also organizes many rich and attractive sideline activities; along with activities to experience the stages of making pho for Ambassadors, guests and tourists at the traditional pho craft village of Van Cu.
This is a good opportunity to promote the unique cultural and culinary values of Nam Dinh province in particular and Vietnam in general to domestic tourists and international friends. Especially through the Festival, the Organizing Committee hopes to move towards preparing a dossier to submit to Unesco to make Vietnamese Pho a World Cultural Heritage.
