In the first two months of the year, which markets did Vietnam import animal feed from?

According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, imports of animal feed and raw materials to Vietnam in February 2024 decreased by 19.7% compared to January 2024 and decreased by 7.3% compared to February 2023, reaching 341.25 million USD.

Accumulated imports of this group of goods in the first two months of 2024 reached nearly 765.79 million USD, an increase of 2.9% compared to the first two months of 2023.

In the first two months of 2024, Vietnam spent nearly 765.79 million USD to import animal feed.

Imports of animal feed and raw materials are the largest from the US market, accounting for 21.6% of the total import turnover of this group of goods nationwide, reaching nearly 165.23 million USD, an increase of 32% compared to the first 2 months of 2023; of which February 2024 alone reached 90.91 million USD, an increase of 21.9% compared to January 2024 and an increase of 38.4% compared to February 2023.

Ranked second is the Brazilian market, accounting for 20.5%, reaching 157.06 million USD, an increase of 333.9% over the same period in 2023; in February 2024 alone, imports from this market reached over 102.13 million USD, a sharp increase of 85.9% over January 2024 and an increase of 309.4% over February 2023.

Next, the Argentine market in February 2024 saw a sharp decrease of 70.3% compared to January 2024 and a decrease of 78.8% compared to February 2023, reaching nearly 29.67 million USD; in the first two months of 2024, imports from this market decreased sharply by 54.5% compared to the first two months of 2023; reaching over 129.44 million USD, accounting for 16.9% of the total turnover.

Imports of animal feed and raw materials from the Southeast Asian market in the first two months of 2024 increased by 6.5% compared to the first two months of 2023, reaching over 52.01 million USD, accounting for 6.8%.

Imports from the EU market decreased sharply by 63%, reaching 22.4 million USD, accounting for 2.9%.
