2 Kien Giang Police Captains Donate Blood to Save a Child in Time

At around 9:00 a.m. on August 20, the "Living Blood Bank" club of Kien Giang Provincial Police received information from the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital that two pediatric patients were in urgent need of B blood units for emergency treatment.

Immediately after receiving the information, Captain Nguyen Viet Cuong, a member of the Youth Union of the Drug Police Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police, reported to the unit commander.

With the approval of his superiors, Captain Nguyen Viet Cuong quickly went to the hospital to register to donate 350ml of blood to help TBT (6 years old, living in Giong Rieng town, Giong Rieng district) who had congenital hemolytic anemia (THALASSEMIA) and needed an urgent blood transfusion.

On the same day, Captain Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, a member of the An Hoa Ward Police, Rach Gia City, also donated 350ml of blood to help D.MQ (14 years old, residing in An Binh Ward, Rach Gia City) who has congenital hemolytic anemia and is in need of blood for emergency treatment.

Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Quoc - Head of the Youth Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police - said that the "Living Blood Bank" club of Kien Giang Provincial Police has been operating for more than 7 years and has shown positive results, promptly donating blood and platelets to help treat many critically ill patients.

"This is an action that demonstrates the spirit of "mutual love", initiative, and volunteerism of the youth of Kien Giang Provincial Police with the motto "A drop of blood given - A life left behind", demonstrating the humanitarian spirit "When people need, when people are in trouble, there is the Police", Lieutenant Colonel Quoc shared.
