Da Nang: Of the 665 awards of the National Mathematical Olympiad for students and pupils, 115 candidates won first prize.
The 30th National Mathematics Olympiad for Students and Pupils Award Ceremony took place on April 13 in Da Nang City.
In the student competition, the organizing committee awarded nearly 450 prizes, including 43 first prizes. This competition took place on April 9-12, with nearly 700 students and more than 800 registrations in the two subjects of Algebra and Analysis, the highest in the 30-year history of the competition.
11 candidates had special achievements, being valedictorians in one subject or winning first prize in both subjects. The schools with high achievements are Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, University of Science - Vietnam National University, Hanoi in group A. In group B are Foreign Trade University, Campus 2, Military Medical Academy, Hung Vuong University - Phu Tho.
In the competition for gifted students, more than 200 prizes were awarded, including 42 first prizes. This competition took place online on March 16-17. More than 400 gifted students from 46 schools nationwide competed on topics such as arithmetic, geometry, algebra, analysis and combinatorics.

This year's Mathematical Olympiad for students and pupils is organized by the Vietnam Mathematical Society, the University of Natural Sciences and the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics.
According to Professor Vu Hoang Linh, President of the Vietnam Mathematical Association, the exam has the participation of students studying in very different fields such as science, technology, engineering, economics, military... with the common point being the passion for Mathematics.
During the exam, candidates also participated in sports and cultural activities, and attended a series of online lectures to train excellent math students by famous professors and lecturers.
