11 renewable energy projects have generated commercial electricity to the grid

On the morning of June 27, Mr. Tran Viet Hoa, Director of the Electricity Regulatory Authority ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) informed VTC News that by the end of June 26, 70/85 transitional renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3,851.86 MW had sent documents to the Electricity Trading Company to negotiate electricity prices and power purchase contracts; 11 factories/parts of factories with a total capacity of 545.72 MW had completed COD procedures and were able to generate commercial electricity to the grid; 24 projects were under trial operation.

The cumulative electricity output of transitional renewable energy projects reached about 59.47 million kWh; of which, the average daily electricity output was about 3.2 million kWh, accounting for about 0.4% of the total mobilized electricity output.

In addition, 59 projects (total capacity of 3,211.41 MW) have proposed provisional prices equal to 50% of the ceiling price of the price range (according to Decision No. 21/QD-BCT dated January 7, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade). EVN and investors have completed price negotiations and initialed PPA contracts with 55/59 projects; of which the Ministry of Industry and Trade has approved provisional prices for 51 projects.

19 projects have been accepted by competent State management agencies for the construction/part of the construction; 27 projects have been granted electricity operation licenses for the entire plant/part of the plant; 36 projects have had decisions to extend investment policies.

Thus, there are still 15 projects with a total capacity of 882.70 MW that have not yet submitted negotiation documents.

EVN continues to request investors of the remaining renewable energy projects to submit documents as soon as possible so that this unit can consider temporary price agreements for the plants. After negotiations are completed, the agreed price will be settled according to the official price from the date of electricity generation to the grid. For projects that have completed investment and construction work, complete legal documents according to regulations.
