100 outstanding cooperatives were awarded the first Mai An Tiem award

On the morning of December 5, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) held a press conference to inform about the ceremony to honor typical cooperative products, award the first Mai An Tiem Award in 2024 (Coop Gold Product Awards 2024), launch the Month of Action for Cooperatives and the International Year of Cooperatives - 2025.

At the press conference, Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Dinh Hong Thai said that the choice to honor cooperative products was meaningful from the story of Mai An Tiem - a beautiful symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit of the Vietnamese people from thousands of years ago. Exiled to a deserted island, but with the will to overcome difficulties and creativity, Mai An Tiem turned the wilderness into an orchard, leaving behind a precious watermelon variety that is forever associated with his name.

That spirit of resilience and creativity is not only the pride of the past but is also expected to become a source of inspiration for today's generations. In particular, with the cooperative economy and cooperative model, the spirit of Mai An Tiem will continue to spread, contributing to building a strong and developed Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as Uncle Ho always wished.

The Mai An Tiem Award aims to recognize and honor products of cooperatives and cooperative unions that have prestige, quality, competitiveness, large consumption markets, are trusted by consumers, and contribute positively to the development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives; support and promote the collective economic sector and cooperatives to improve productivity, quality and competitiveness of products to meet the requirements of domestic and foreign markets, promote national identity, traditional values, and spread in the community...

Nearly half a year since its launch, the Mai An Tiem Award has received enthusiastic response from the Cooperative Unions of provinces and cities, with efforts to promote and mobilize cooperatives to register to participate.

The participating products are diverse in types, outstanding in quality, many products meet OCOP standards from 3 - 5 stars or other prestigious titles awarded by central ministries, branches or provincial People's Committees. With beautiful designs, packaging, clear origin, the products not only win the trust of domestic consumers but also reach out to the international market.

After a long period of voting, the Central Voting Council has selected 100 typical products of cooperatives nationwide in the list of the first Mai An Tiem awards organized by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, to honor impressive, creative and effective cooperative products.

The ceremony to honor typical products of cooperatives, award the first Mai An Tiem award; launch the Month of Action for Cooperatives and the International Year of Cooperatives - 2025 will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 11 at the Army Theater, 130 Ho Tung Mau Street, Mai Dich Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi. The ceremony will be broadcast live on VTC6 channel.
