The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a prestigious annual science competition for students under 15 years old to encourage students to approach practical science early and foster scientific talents.
This year’s International Junior Science Olympiad was held in Romania with the participation of more than 300 students from 52 countries and territories. Over the past 20 years, since first participating in IJSO in 2004, the Hanoi team representing Vietnam has been constantly determined to affirm its position in the international arena.
In the exam, students take the natural science test in 3 subjects: physics, chemistry, and biology. For each subject, students must take 3 tests including: an objective test on general knowledge; a theoretical test requiring skills in synthesis, analysis, autonomy, problem solving, calculation, science, and creativity; and a practical test with skills in using modern tools and machines.
With solid knowledge, confidence and utmost efforts, the achievements of the Hanoi student delegation were highly appreciated and surpassed the quality of the medals compared to last year (at the IJSO 2023 exam, 6/6 Hanoi students won medals with 1 Silver Medal and 5 Bronze Medals).
