100 businesses owe more than 7,861 billion VND in taxes

On August 8, Mr. Thai Minh Giao, Deputy Director in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, said that the unit has just completed a list of 100 enterprises with tax debts totaling VND7,861 billion. The majority of these debts are enterprises related to the real estate sector.

Topping the list of tax debts is Golden Hill Investment Joint Stock Company with nearly 1,300 billion VND. Next is Song Tien Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company, with a debt of more than 1,000 billion VND.

Enterprises with tax debts ranging from over VND400 billion to under VND1,000 billion include: Housing Development and Business Joint Stock Company (VND446 billion); Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden (VND616 billion); Hung Thinh Land Joint Stock Company (VND556 billion)...

The group with tax debt from 100 billion VND to 300 billion VND has 5 enterprises. The rest have the lowest debt level of 9.8 billion VND and the highest of over 91 billion VND.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, in the first 6 months of 2023, the department issued more than 45,000 enforcement decisions, equivalent to VND 185,470 billion in tax debt, recovering more than VND 12,700 billion. Of which, VND 5,685 billion in tax debt in 2022 and VND 7,024 billion in new debt arising in 2023.

The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has assigned tax collection and debt settlement targets for 2023 to its affiliated units. At the same time, it continues to review and standardize debt data, and synchronously deploy measures to urge collection and enforce tax debt.
