At the end of the trading session, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor on September 15, 2024 at 5:30 a.m. increased by 4.658 - 5.267 tons. Specifically, the monthly delivery term November 2024 was 5.267 USD/ton, an increase of 190 USD/ton); the monthly delivery term January 2025 was 4.998 USD/ton (an increase of 182 USD/ton); the monthly delivery term March 2025 was 4.790 USD/ton (an increase of 180 USD/ton) and the monthly delivery term May 2025 was 4.658 USD/ton (an increase of 173 USD/ton).

Arabica coffee prices on the New York floor this morning September 15, 2024 were dominated by green, with an increase of 9.20 - 10.05 cents/lb. Specifically, the monthly delivery term December 2024 was 259.45 cents/lb, up 4.03%; the monthly delivery term March 2025 was 256.60 cents/lb (up 3.89%); the monthly delivery term May 2025 was 253.95 cents/lb (up 3.82%) and the monthly delivery term July 2025 was 250.95, up 3.81%.

Brazilian Arabica coffee prices this morning September 15, 2024 increased and decreased in opposite directions. Specifically, the monthly delivery term September 2024 was 316.95 USD/ton, up 4.38%; the monthly delivery term December 2024 was 305.40 USD/ton (down 0.59%); the monthly delivery term March 2025 was 310.80 USD/ton, up 3.08% and the monthly delivery term May 2025 was 311.70 USD/ton, up 4.13%.

Robusta coffee traded on ICE Futures Europe (London floor) opens at 16:00 and closes at 00:30 (the next day), Vietnam time.

Arabica coffee on the ICE Futures US floor (New York floor) opens at 16:15 and closes at 01:30 (the next day), Vietnam time.

For Arabica coffee traded on the Brazilian B3 floor, it will be open from 19:00 - 02:35 (the next day), Vietnam time.

Coffee price today 15/9: For the first time in history, coffee export price has surpassed 5.000 USD/ton

Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:30 a.m. on September 15, 2024 as follows, the domestic coffee market today increased by 2.000 VND/kg, ranging from 123.500 - 124.000. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 123.600 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in the province Dak Nong, Dak Lak is 124.000 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in the province Gia Lai (Chu Prong) is 123.900 VND, an increase of 2.000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, in Pleiku and La Grai the same price is 123.800 VND/kg. In the province Kon Tum at 123.900 VND/kg, an increase of 2.000 VND/kg compared to yesterday; In Dak Nong province, coffee was purchased at 124.000 VND/kg, an increase of 2.000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in the province Lam Dong In districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee was purchased at 123.500 VND/kg, an increase of 2.000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee price today (date 15/9) in Dak Lak province; in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at around 124.000 VND/kg, up 2.000 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at 123.900 VND/kg.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the month of August 2024, Robusta and Arabica coffee prices on trading floors increased sharply, continuously recording record highs in many years due to unfavorable weather in Brazil and Vietnam, affecting global supply.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai – Chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) – informed that since Vietnam started exporting coffee, this is the first time in history that the price of this type of bean has exceeded the 5.000 USD/ton mark. However, Vietnam’s coffee inventory for export in September is not much, the supply has run out.

The coffee harvest will begin next October, peaking in November and December. However, our country's coffee output in the 10-11 crop year is estimated to decrease by about 12% compared to the previous crop (the output in the 2024-2025 crop year is estimated at about 10 million tons).

Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai commented that although coffee production will be abundant during the harvest season, coffee prices can still remain stable at a high level, which is beneficial for farmers. In the coming time, it will be difficult for this type of bean to decrease sharply due to the impact of climate change, the El Nino phenomenon causing drought throughout the coffee growing regions of the world leading to a decrease in supply. Geopolitical conflicts in the world, tensions in the Red Sea have caused shipping costs and many other costs to increase. Along with that, many financial speculators in the world choose coffee (after oil and gold) to speculate. These are major factors that push global coffee prices up and stay high, including coffee prices in Vietnam.

Coffee prices are forecast to remain high next month due to reduced supply and increased demand. Vietnam’s 2024/25 coffee output is expected to fall sharply to a 13-year low. Meanwhile, the mainstream coffee consumer market in the Northern Hemisphere is gradually returning from summer vacation, which will help boost some physical coffee trading in the coming months ahead of the winter roasting season in Europe and the United States.
