EVNGENCO1 focuses on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 at 2 factories in Quang Ninh

Storm No. 3 (internationally known as Yagi) is assessed by experts as a very strong storm in the past 30 years, with a high level of natural disaster risk and complex developments. Despite proactive response, due to the devastating damage, the province Quang Ninh In general, Uong Bi Thermal Power Plant and Quang Ninh Thermal Power Plant in particular are among the units most affected by this storm.

Given the complex developments of the storm, strictly implement the telegram of Prime minister Goverment, Ministries, provinces/cities, Vietnam Electricity Group, Power Generation Corporation 1 in the work of responding to storm No. 3, determined that this was a strong storm with great destructive power, employees at the two units were not subjective, negligent and proactively responded to situations when the storm made landfall.

Storm No. 3 has caused serious damage to the facilities and IT infrastructure of the two units. Due to the impact of the storm, the power system has become unstable, the factory's generators have had to stop operating to ensure safety, many locations of the premises and factories have been seriously affected. However, the units have still ensured human safety, with no casualties.

After inspecting the damaged locations after the storm at the factory and nearby constructions, the working delegation visited and encouraged the officers, workers, and storm response forces in the past days.

During the working session, the delegation of the EVNGENCO1 Board of Members highly appreciated the efforts of Uong Bi Thermal Power Company and Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company in responding to the storm, helping to minimize damage to works and assets. 

At Uong Bi Thermal Power Company, the working group gave timely and drastic instructions to create a foundation for the unit to quickly overcome the damage and stabilize production soon. At Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Tien Khoa also requested the unit to continue to promote the spirit of initiative in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods; prepare to prevent and combat post-storm circulation... 

With the highest determination and effort, Power Generation Corporation 1 has been mobilizing all forces to focus on overcoming the consequences and putting the generator back into operation according to the requirements of the National Power System, ensuring power generation for people's daily life and the country's economic development.
