10月4日午前、ベトナム女子セパタクローチームは決勝戦でインドネシアを2対1で破り、優勝を果たした。これはベトナムのセパタクロー史上3個目のASIAD金メダルです。金メダル獲得の功績により、6名の選手（主力4名、控え2名）からなるセパタクロー女子チームには、ベトナム政府から8億4千万ドン（金メダル1個につき1億4千万ドン、6名チームには同額）が授与された。セパタクロー連盟は3億ベトナムドンを「報奨」し、ベトナムスポーツ代表団は5億ベトナムドンを授与した。 Mr. Le Thanh Son - official in charge of the Sepak Takraw sport under the General Department of Sports and Physical Training - affirmed: "We have been building the Sepak Takraw team for many years. Particularly, the Vietnamese men's Sepak Takraw team won a bronze medal at the 18th ASIAD.
