Lai Chau introduces potential advantages, promotes consumption of typical products

At the reception, Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee Le Van Luong expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of Departments and Agencies under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Distribution and Retail Group who visited Lai Chau province and attended the Investment Promotion Conference of 2024 of Lai Chau province held today (13/10). In order to contribute to effectively promoting the potentials and advantages of the province in socio-economic development, improving the material life of the people of all ethnic groups in Lai Chau province, within the framework of the working session, the Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Departments and Bureaus under the Ministry of Industry and Trade pay attention to supporting information on markets, product and goods quality standards of the domestic market and the markets of importing countries; supporting the promotion and introduction of the potentials, strengths, and products of Lai Chau province to businesses and consumers of other countries through Vietnam Trade Offices, Vietnam Trade Promotion Offices abroad; supporting the invitation and introduction of domestic and foreign businesses to survey and seek investment opportunities, joint ventures, and cooperation in developing production and business in the field of Industry and Trade in Lai Chau province...

Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee presented gifts and introduced local products to the working delegation.

The Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee also requested the corporations to coordinate to promote and support the promotion and consumption of Lai Chau province's agricultural products in the corporation's supermarket system; strengthen promotional activities, advertise products, and images of Lai Chau province to domestic and foreign consumers; coordinate to organize promotional events, introduce Lai Chau province's products in the corporation's supermarket systems nationwide...

Basically agreeing with the opinions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and will gradually propose and support the contents that the province has mentioned, Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Department of Trade Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Lai Chau province still has many difficulties but Lai Chau is making efforts to turn difficulties and challenges into opportunities, unleashing potential to improve livelihoods and create income for people.

Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Vu Ba Phu contributed many ideas to help Lai Chau promote trade and develop local goods.

The Director of the Trade Promotion Department suggested that Lai Chau province focus on developing agriculture, community tourism and diversifying tourism products, linking tourism development with product consumption, especially OCOP products. Regarding tea products, Mr. Vu Ba Phu suggested that the province should register geographical indications with Science and technology to build a brand. Along with that, support people and cooperatives to invest in production lines, improve processing capacity, focus on developing rural industry, deep processing; connect and link according to product value chains, produce safe tea, organic tea for export. For Lai Chau Ginseng products, it is recommended that the province continue to direct the Department of Industry and Trade and related units to link to deep processing, diversify products, and increase value.
