On June 4, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province sent an urgent document to Cao Nguyen 1 Wind Power Development Investment Joint Stock Company (Cao Nguyen 1 Company) - the investor of Ia Le 1 Wind Power Plant Project (Chu Puh district, Gia Lai province), requesting to stop the trial operation of 14 wind power towers at this project.
Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade requested Cao Nguyen 1 Company to temporarily suspend the trial operation of wind power towers as requested by the People's Committee of Chu Puh district and only conduct the trial operation after receiving the agreement of this district.
Along with that, the document was also sent to Vietnam Electricity Group, requesting this agency to direct the National Power System Dispatch Center and the Central Power System Dispatch Center to request the investor to seriously implement the requirements of the Gia Lai Department of Industry and Trade and local authorities.

As reported by VTC News, recently, the People's Committee of Chu Puh district sent a report to the People's Committee of Gia Lai province and the Department of Industry and Trade of the province regarding the trial operation of 14/28 wind power towers by Cao Nguyen 1 Company when compensation and support for the people had not been completed.
Specifically, on May 25, Cao Nguyen 1 Company announced a plan to test run 14/28 remaining wind turbines of Ia Le 1 Wind Power Plant, from May 27 to June 10.
Immediately afterwards, the People's Committee of Chu Puh district responded in writing that the factory had not yet resolved compensation and support for land and property within the safety corridor of the wind turbine towers, which caused public anger and prolonged complaints that affected the security and order situation in the area.
Therefore, the District People's Committee requested Cao Nguyen 1 Company to temporarily suspend the trial operation until the compensation and support issue related to the wind power corridor is resolved, to avoid further complicating the situation and causing insecurity and disorder in the locality.
However, in reality, from the afternoon of May 30 to the morning of May 31, the investor still tested 14 wind turbines. When the local authorities requested a temporary halt, the company said it would continue the test run according to the document of the Vietnam Electricity Group.
In response to this incident, on the afternoon of May 31, many households in Phu Binh village, Ia Le commune went to the headquarters of the Citizen Reception Committee of Chu Puh district to petition and request that Cao Nguyen 1 Company must resolve the issue of compensation and support before operating the remaining wind turbines.
Ia Le 1 Wind Power Plant Project (in Ia Le Commune, Chu Puh District, Gia Lai Province) has a total capacity of 100MW, a cost of more than 4,000 billion VND with 28 wind turbine towers. By the end of 2021, 14 towers were connected for commercial operation.
Although the project has been completed for 2 years, compensation and support for 37 households within the corridor of the wind tower have not been implemented. This has caused frustration among the people, leading to a prolonged situation of complaints. Collective petitions for help have also been sent to the Central Government.
