Requesting Dong Nai to hand over the land for power grid projects to relieve the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants.

The Government Office has just announced the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son's direction on important national projects and key energy sector projects. In which, he directed to remove obstacles for power plant projects in many provinces and cities.

In order for the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plant projects and the synchronous power grid projects to release the capacity of the plants, Mr. Bui Thanh Son requested the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to urgently direct the completion of procedures and speed up the compensation and site clearance work. The entire site must be handed over to the investor in April 2025 for construction.

When the grid projects are invested synchronously, it will ensure the ability to release the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 thermal power plants when they are put into commercial operation. The locality is fully responsible to the Prime Minister for the delay in implementing the grid projects due to problems with site clearance.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to direct the Vietnam Electricity Group and the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group to continue to coordinate negotiations and reach consensus to ensure that Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant will be put into operation in July 2025 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant will be put into operation in October 2025.

Regarding the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to direct the Vinh Cuu District People's Committee to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to promptly carry out procedures on compensation and resettlement support to soon hand over the factory site and Hieu Liem Bridge project to the investor.

Ensure the progress of starting construction of Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion in the second quarter of 2025.

Particularly, the construction of the bridge abutments and piers of Hieu Liem bridge must be completed before the flood season of 2025.

Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants add about 9 billion kWh of electricity/year

Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plant project is located in Ong Keo Industrial Park (Phuoc Khanh commune, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai), invested by PV Power.

Many items of the factory have been tested and put into use such as: 220kV distribution yard system supplying electricity to the factory, main transformer system and self-used transformer of the factory, water treatment system, compressed air system, wastewater treatment system...

In early February, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant was successfully connected to the grid, reaching a capacity of 50MW.

Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant alone is planned to operate commercially in October 2025.

These two plants, once put into commercial operation, will add about 9 billion kWh of electricity per year, contributing to ensuring national energy security, realizing the net zero target and promoting the development of gas-fired power projects in Vietnam according to Power Plan VIII.

The two projects coming into operation will not only solve the energy security problem for the region and the country, but also add thousands of billions of VND to the budget for Dong Nai province.
