Localities are required to immediately recall 12 types of fake milk powder still on the market.

On April 24, regarding the fake milk production line at Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Group Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, the Food Safety Department (FSD), Ministry of Health sent an official dispatch to the Department of Health of provinces and cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City and the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments of localities requesting the immediate recall of 12 types of fake milk powder.

Police inspect fake milk warehouse in Hanoi

Accordingly, after receiving the official dispatch from the Investigation Police Agency, the Ministry of Public Security requested coordination in the fight against, prevention of crime, detection of illegal acts, in which 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) were identified as counterfeit goods violating the provisions of Point b, Clause 7, Article 3, Decree 98/2020/ND-CP of the Government, the Food Safety Department requested the above functional units to review, inspect and coordinate with local competent authorities to recall all 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) that are counterfeit goods still on the market; coordinate with the police to handle and resolve according to the provisions of law.

Authorities have seized many types of fake milk powder.

Along with that, the Food Safety Department also requested local health agencies to strengthen recommendations for people not to use 72 dairy products under investigation of the two above-mentioned enterprises until the final conclusion of the police agency. At the same time, it requested local authorities to continue to strengthen inspection, examination, and handling of food safety violations and to strengthen inspection and post-inspection of fake and poor quality food.
