As of October 2024, Yen Son district had 1,852 households escaping poverty, reaching 123% of the target assigned by the province. To achieve this result, Yen Son district identified the poverty reduction target as the main task and target in the direction and operation of local Party committees, authorities and the entire political system. Along with that, the district has focused on mobilizing many resources and solutions for the poverty reduction program, such as: Mobilizing capital and means of production to help poor households, assigning each cadre, party member and association member to help poor households combined with effective poverty reduction experiences of previous years. Poverty reduction programs and policies have been implemented by the district in a timely and targeted manner, contributing to increasing resources for poor households to escape poverty.

Above all, the awareness and ways of doing business of poor households have gradually changed; many households have been conscious of rising out of poverty, no longer thinking of waiting for the State's help.
Stand with the poor
With the target of reducing the number of poor households by 1,501 or more by the end of 2024 (equivalent to 3.73%), Yen Son district has focused on tasks and solutions, such as: Directing communes and towns to review and classify poor households receiving social protection; households with especially difficult circumstances that cannot escape poverty and find out the causes of poverty, thereby proposing specific solutions to create conditions to effectively help each household.
In addition, the district also focuses on vocational training, job placement consultancy, and restructuring of rural labor, linking vocational training to improve skills with job creation to improve production and business efficiency for workers, especially for workers in poor, near-poor households and ethnic minority households. Implementing well support policies, creating all favorable conditions for workers to work abroad for a limited period when needed, focusing on markets where Vietnamese workers have been sent to work stably, especially the markets of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc. Creating favorable conditions for the poor to access capital sources, along with guidance on how to do business, agricultural and industrial promotion and transfer of scientific and technical applications in production; supporting residential land and production land for poor households according to regulations. Effectively implementing preferential credit policies for poor, near-poor households, and households that have just escaped poverty, especially households with disabled people and female heads of households. Support connecting the poor to the market through developing units providing production and product consumption services for poor households.
Yen Son district will also step up the mobilization of resources to implement the Housing Construction and Production Development Support Program for poor households and other programs supported by banks, enterprises and from the Fund for the Poor and the local Social Security Fund. Ensure that 100% of social protection beneficiaries receive subsidies according to Government regulations.
