Mr. Luong Van Tam - Chairman of Suoi Giang Commune People's Committee said that Van Chan District People's Committee has just approved the program to organize propaganda activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
In particular, Suoi Giang commune is the venue for a series of important events such as the 2025 Shan Tuyet Tea Festival; the "Golden Hands Tea Picking" Contest; activities, experiences, sightseeing, tourism; highland market space; art performances, sports competitions, folk games.
The opening ceremony of the "Shan Tuyet Tea Festival 2025" was held at 8:00 p.m. on April 30 at the Suoi Giang Commune Event Ground with tea making performances by Suoi Giang Cooperative, Song Gia Tea Company and music and dance performances, Mong flute performance, Mong costume performance, and traditional Shan Tuyet tea star performance.
The "Golden Hands Tea Picking" contest will be held at 8:00 a.m. on May 1 at the ancient tea garden of Dang Tra in Giang B village, Suoi Giang commune, with many activities including panpipe performances, rice cake pounding competitions, sports competitions, and folk games such as tug of war, stick pushing, stilt walking, pao throwing, top spinning, beeswax painting, etc.

Ms. Lam Thi Kim Thoa - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Director of Suoi Giang Cooperative expressed her joy at being assigned tasks by the Commune People's Committee during this year's Shan Tuyet Tea Festival. Suoi Giang Cooperative's preparations for the Festival are being actively implemented and hope to bring visitors the unique tea culture of the highland people.
Ms. Vu Thi Mai Oanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai province shared that Suoi Giang is a land bearing the cultural imprint of the Mong people, possessing a fresh ecosystem, ideal altitude and especially the ancient Shan Tuyet tea area hundreds of years old. With a strategic vision, innovative ways of doing things and the synchronous participation of the entire political system and the people, Suoi Giang is gradually realizing the aspiration of becoming a "green, unique and happy resort destination".
Suoi Giang is a highland commune of Van Chan district (Yen Bai province), 12km north of the district center. Located at an altitude of over 1,371 meters above sea level, Suoi Giang has a cool climate, with an average temperature that is usually 8 - 9 degrees Celsius lower than the surrounding area.
The Mong people of Suoi Giang account for more than 96%, possessing an intact traditional folk culture treasure. In the cool weather, the Shan Tuyet tea trees overcome storms and grow into ancient trees that have provided shade for centuries. The quintessence of heaven and earth converges with a unique culture to create an identity, turning Suoi Giang into an attractive resort destination with fascinating experiences.
Currently, in Suoi Giang commune, there are 2 cave tourist areas, Coc Tinh and Thien Cung, along with 25 homestays, which are destinations for sightseeing, experience, relaxation and tea enjoyment for tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists every year.
