>> Yen Binh strives to achieve a meat output of 17,500 tons
According to the report of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries (Department of Agriculture and Environment of Yen Bai province), as of April 10, the total output of live meat for slaughter in the province reached about 27,850 tons, reaching 32% of the annual plan. In particular, compared to the same period in 2024, this figure increased by 139.4%.
Of which, the output of live meat from the main livestock herds such as buffalo, cows and pigs accounted for the majority, reaching 20,472 tons, exceeding 133.4% over the same period last year and reaching 112% compared to the growth scenario in the first quarter of 2025. This positive result comes from the fact that the livestock industry has proactively prevented hunger and cold for livestock, strictly controlled diseases, along with stable live pig prices at 64,000 - 67,000 VND/kg, creating conditions for farmers to confidently restore their herds and expand production scale.
The sharp increase in output not only helps farmers earn more income but also creates important momentum for Yen Bai's livestock industry to make a breakthrough in 2025, aiming for double-digit growth and becoming a key industry in the local agricultural structure.
