Mr. Pham Van Dung in Da village, Thuong Bang La commune, Van Chan district has been involved in growing forestry trees for many years, but the care process is long and the prices are unstable, depending heavily on the market. In 2023, when the commune promoted the Bat Do bamboo shoot value chain production linkage project, realizing that this is a crop with a lot of potential and support, Mr. Dung registered to participate. He proactively exploited the available forestry area, ready for new crops.
Mr. Dung shared: "To participate in the Project, I only need to pay 5,000 VND/seedling in advance, the province supports 7,000 VND/seedling, the remaining amount will be paid when harvesting, so I boldly planted 4.9 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots. In addition to being provided with quality seedlings, I was also trained and instructed on meticulous planting and care techniques, following scientific and technical standards, and was committed to purchasing all products. So there is nothing to worry about, just rest assured to produce."
Not only Mr. Dung but also more than 100 households in 2 communes: Thuong Bang La, Tan Thinh and Tran Phu Farm town also enjoy such support. The project of linking production according to the Bat Do bamboo and shoot value chain implemented in Van Chan district in 2023 - 2024 has a total investment of 1,452 billion VND, of which the provincial budget supports 500 million VND.
After 2 years, the Project implementation unit has provided 42,950 seedlings to plant 85.9 hectares (density of 500 trees/ha) and intensively cultivate 50 hectares in the chain. After planting, the survival rate reached 98%, and it is expected that some areas will be harvested this year. Obviously, participating in the chain has encouraged farmers to change their thinking, converting small-scale production methods to large-scale linkages. Farmers' products are also controlled from input to output, so productivity and quality are good.
Even fertilizers, pesticides or animal feed, based on the needs of the people registered, through cooperatives, cooperative groups, enterprises act as the focal point to introduce qualified sources of supply, both avoiding the situation of counterfeit and poor quality goods and enjoying preferential prices when buying in large quantities. In addition, enterprises also sign contracts to consume products, do not have to struggle with consumption, thereby bringing a stable source of income, creating jobs for local workers.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Son - Director of MQ Livestock and Agricultural Services Cooperative (Tran Yen district) said: "When members join the cooperative, from the stage of selecting breeds, breed structure, veterinary medicine, animal feed, biological products, they agree on a common source and a common production process from barn standards, care techniques, disease safety... Up to now, the cooperative has 10 members and nearly 30 households associated with livestock farming in villages in the commune. The cooperative signs contracts to purchase all products with associated households, an average of 170 tons/month. The average salary of cooperative members is stable at 7 - 8 million VND/month and for associated households, the income is around 10 million VND/month".
In 2025, Yen Bai province will continue to support the implementation of 18 value chain production linkage projects, including 15 transitional projects and 3 new projects with a total budget support of 6,278 billion VND from the provincial budget. This is an effective solution to achieve the goal of developing agriculture towards commodities, improving quality, efficiency, added value and sustainable development of the province in the period of 2021 - 2025.
From 2021 to 2024, Yen Bai province has supported 59 projects linking production development according to the value chain, with a disbursed budget of VND 31,535 billion. The projects have focused on developing the province's key products such as: Bat Do bamboo shoots (17 projects), mulberry cultivation, silkworm breeding (16 projects), lowland tea (6 projects), medium and large-scale livestock farming (8 projects), fruit trees (4 projects), medicinal plants (2 projects), organic cinnamon (6 projects) with a total budget for project implementation of VND 230.7 billion. |
