On August 22, the Department of Information and Communications of Yen Bai province organized a training conference to improve the capacity of grassroots information officers to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2024. There were 192 participants who were cultural and social civil servants and grassroots information and communication officers in the province.
Accordingly, in the coming time, grassroots information will change the way of doing communication, from mainly using people to using machines to do communication; from mainly using the common language of communication to using ethnic minority languages for areas with a large number of ethnic minorities; from a specialized information system to a multi-sector and multi-field information ecosystem.
Currently, the staff working in grassroots information in the province are mostly part-time workers who directly manage and operate the grassroots information systems of communes, wards and towns: radio stations, electronic information pages, public electronic bulletin boards and other grassroots information media, and some are part-time commune-level cultural and social officials.

At the training conference, trainees were disseminated, discussed and guided on 5 topics including: Topic 1 - Introducing some basic policies, programs, projects and propaganda orientations on poverty reduction; developing vocational education; vocational training for rural workers; Topic 2 - Introducing some basic contents on grassroots information work (Overview of grassroots information; methods of grassroots information activities; forces participating in grassroots information activities, etc.); Topic 3 - Introducing the process of operating, exploiting and using the provincial source information system for commune-level radio stations; Topic 4 - Introducing some applications of AI artificial intelligence technology, social networking platforms serving information and propaganda work; Topic 5 - Introducing the process of operating, exploiting and using commune-level radio stations; some common errors and how to maintain and fix them when using commune-level radio stations.
Through the training course, the aim is to equip the most basic knowledge about grassroots information; some documents on policies, programs and propaganda orientations on sustainable poverty reduction and vocational education development in the locality; introduce the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025 to officials working on information and communication at the grassroots level in general and communication on poverty reduction and vocational education development in particular, contributing to improving the quality of information and propaganda serving political tasks, essential information for society, especially providing grassroots information to people in communes with high poverty rates, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas.
