Yen Bai - This year's spring rice crop, Yen Bai province plans to plant 18,800 hectares. By the end of February 20, the whole province had planted 17,182 hectares, reaching nearly 92% of the plan. Localities with completed and exceeded spring rice planting areas are: Tran Yen, Yen Binh, Luc Yen, Nghia Lo.
Of which, Tran Yen district has cultivated 2,180 hectares, reaching 107% of the area; Nghia Lo town 1,980 hectares, reaching 100% of the area; Luc Yen district 3,400 hectares, reaching 100% of the area; Yen Binh district 2,235 hectares, reaching 100% of the area. The remaining localities have completed 87% - 92% of the area; Tram Tau district alone has cultivated 45% of the area. Yen Bai province strives to complete 100% of the spring rice cultivation area by February 2025.
Currently, the agricultural sector continues to coordinate with localities to closely monitor the weather developments of the crop to have timely guidance measures; focusing on directing people to actively visit fields, care for, and prevent pests and diseases for spring rice areas, striving to achieve the highest productivity and output.
Along with speeding up the spring rice planting progress, local people in the province are also actively growing vegetables. To date, the whole province has planted nearly 11,000 hectares of spring corn; nearly 1,000 hectares of cassava, over 1,670 hectares of sweet potatoes, 900 hectares of peanuts and nearly 5,700 hectares of various vegetables.
