On November 29, Lai Chau Provincial Police said that Tan Uyen District Police, in coordination with authorities and local residents, had just searched for and rescued a paraglider pilot who had an accident and crashed into a forest area in Tan Uyen town.

The victim was Mr. Ngo Van Doi (born in 1993, residing in Zone 9, Hien Quan commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province).

Authorities determined that the area where the pilot crashed was about 1,500-1,600m high, and was the Hua Pau cardamom plantation area, 7km from town. The phone signal in this area was patchy, and the jungle trails were difficult to navigate.
Tan Uyen District Police mobilized 25 police officers with mountain climbing experience and familiarity with the area, coordinating with the Medical Station, the Town People's Committee, and Hua Pau village residents to search for the victim overnight.

After 5 hours of searching through the forest, at 1:25 a.m. on November 29, the rescue team found Mr. Doi in a cardamom field in the Hoang Lien upstream forest area in Hua Pau village, Tan Uyen town. The victim had a broken jaw, lost a lot of blood and suffered from hypothermia due to the cold weather in the highlands.
Medical staff provided first aid to the injuries on the spot, then the rescue team took Mr. Doi across the trail through the three-tiered waterfall to the District Medical Center for emergency care and treatment.
On the morning of November 29, representatives of the Tan Uyen District Police Department, along with the Party Committee and authorities of Tan Uyen Town, visited the Medical Center to visit and encourage Mr. Doi, and continued to direct forces to assist in searching for some of Mr. Doi's belongings and assets lost during the accident.
