Frontline assault

In late February 2025, a large amount of oil clumps and debris washed ashore along more than 17km of coastline in the Lang Co coastal area (Phu Loc district). Although local forces were mobilized to handle the situation, the sheer volume of oil spilled onto the shore could cause unpredictable environmental consequences, making cleanup and prompt remediation of the incident more urgent than ever.

To quickly assist the local authorities in dealing with the marine environmental incident, more than 100 core officers and soldiers, primarily young people from Regiment 6, along with hundreds of militia members and local forces, were mobilized to urgently collect the debris. With the spirit of quickly cleaning up to restore the marine ecosystem, the young military personnel concentrated maximum manpower and resources to carry out a continuous cleanup for 10 days, collecting over 200 tons of oil clumps and waste, contributing to cleaning up the affected area.
