On April 1, 1930, the first Party cell of the province was established and on April 1, 1932, the Red Flag Newspaper - the propaganda agency of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee officially published its first issue. The Red Flag Newspaper had to stop publishing after a while because its place of operation was exposed, the French colonialists and their henchmen searched and terrorized it, and the Provincial Party Committee had to move to another place to keep it secret. In the years 1936 - 1937, the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee published the Liberation Bell and the Labor Newspaper. In 1941, after 30 years of wandering to find a way to save the country, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc returned to the Fatherland through landmark 108 in Ha Quang district (Cao Bang) to directly lead the Vietnamese revolutionary movement. Here, he founded the Independent Vietnam Newspaper; he was both the director and writer, he reviewed, drew illustrations, propaganda posters, and participated in printing the Independent Vietnam Newspaper on stone. In difficult circumstances, he vividly demonstrated the revolutionary line, contained in each news and article with faith in victory, faith in the correctness of Marxism-Leninism. The journalistic works written or published by him are still a handbook on theory and journalism methods. In July 1956, Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee published Tin Cao Bang, carrying out the task of propagating the construction of socialism, striving to build a strong rear, and supporting the Southern battlefield. Implementing the policy of the Central Party Secretariat on establishing provincial and municipal Party newspapers, in March 1964, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee (term VI) issued Resolution No. 01 to convert Tin Cao Bang into Cao Bang Newspaper. On April 1, 1964, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the founding of the first Party cell of the province (April 1, 1930 - April 1, 1964), Cao Bang Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee officially published its first issue, marking a new step in the development of Cao Bang revolutionary journalism. Over the past half century, with the function of being the voice of the Party Committee, the government, and the forum of the people of all ethnic groups in the province, Cao Bang Newspaper has strived to build the provincial Party Committee newspaper to develop more and more, excellently completing all assigned tasks; operating in accordance with its principles and purposes, becoming a bridge between the Party, the government and all classes of people, bringing the image of the revolutionary homeland of Cao Bang closer to the majority of people inside and outside the province.

Currently, Cao Bang Newspaper has the following press products: Regular printed newspaper, Cao Bang Weekend Newspaper, Highland Photo News and Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper.
