Insulting Nguyen Phuong Hang's privacy, Han Ni was proposed to be sentenced to 18

On March 1, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy presented the indictment and proposed sentence for the defendants Dang Thi Han Ni and Tran Van Sy for the crime of Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the state and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

The representative of the People's Procuracy said that, based on many mitigating circumstances of the defendants, the People's Court should propose to sentence Mr. Tran Van Sy to 24 to 30 months in prison, and Han Ni to 18 to 24 years in prison.

According to the representative of the People's Procuracy, the defendants' actions have negatively affected security and order. At today's trial, they recognized their criminal behavior.

According to the People's Procuracy, the defendants' actions are dangerous to society and have a negative impact on social security, so a severe sentence is needed to deter and educate. In particular, in this case, the people involved are Mrs. Nguyen Phuong Hang and her husband and Dai Nam Company, who are well-known to many people.

In the indictment, the People's Procuracy stated the basis for the expert conclusion and the defendants' confessions in court, which were sufficient grounds to affirm that the indictment against the defendants was the right person, the right crime, and the right penalty.

According to the indictment, from September 2021 to February 2022, Tran Van Sy used the YouTube account "LS Tran Van Sy"; Dang Thi Han Ni used the YouTube and Facebook accounts "Journalist Han Ni" to post articles, organize many recording sessions broadcast on cyberspace, and make statements about fabricated content, knowing that the information was untrue or unverified, seriously insulting the reputation and honor of the individual.

These two people also posted on the Internet information about personal secrets, family secrets and private lives of Mr. Huynh Uy Dung (61 years old, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company) and Nguyen Phuong Hang (General Director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company) in violation of the law, affecting Dai Nam Joint Stock Company and Hang Huu Charity Fund (founded by Mr. Dung and Ms. Hang).

Therefore, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang filed a complaint to the authorities for settlement according to their authority.

Investigation results show that Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni used a Facebook account and a YouTube account named "Journalist Han Ni" to broadcast a recording titled "Does Ms. Hang have the right to squat above the law?".

According to the conclusion, Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni posted on cyberspace information related to personal secrets, family secrets and private lives of others in violation of the law, violating point d, clause 1, article 17 of the Law on Cyber Security.

At the investigation agency, Han Ni confessed that the reason for making statements related to Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang was because Ms. Hang had made offensive words about Han Ni when speaking live online on September 3, 2021.
